It would seem that we have another set of mindless idiots who are spending their nights roaming around The Craythorne breaking up furniture.

On the night of Sunday 16th May they decided to smash up the Halfway House tearing off guttering and all of the brackets. They then shoved the gutter end down the air vent of one of the toilets and badly dented the roof. They then took away the Joe Bamsey seat completely and smashed up the Bob Burman three seater.

Burton Police have been informed and it will not surprise anyone to record that we have been given a crime reference number, been asked where we were born, what height we are and, you guessed it, a full statement. What a great deal of comfort that is !

We also had an irrigation housing smashed and water system turned on wasting water for at least 8 hours.

Later in the day, we found the Bamsey seat down by the Bulwark near Bitham Lane( which can be refurbished), and the Burman seat completely burnt out and ruined.

Overall the cost to The Craythorne will be in the region of £430 with a £500 excess on insurance. In other words a total loss. If any member sees youths, dog walkers or strangers on the course, take out your mobile phone and photograph them. We would be delighted to pursue transgressors.
